Serko Online and Serko Expense are cloud-based enterprise grade solutions that help corporates manage their travel and expense programs. They can be used independently or together to provide an integrated end-to-end solution. Both products have an easy to use, modern browser-based web interface that can be accessed from anywhere and share a common phone app, Serko Mobile, through which users can manage their travel and/or their expenses.
Serko Online is an independent web-based technology platform that talks to the main Global Distribution Systems (GDSs), providing Serko users the ability to search all the content stored in the GDSs, while applying their company’s travel policy. Unlike GDS-owned Online Booking Tools (OBTs), Serko also talks to a large number of other travel providers such as low-cost carriers and discount accommodation providers, which gives corporate users access to a huge range of flights and hotel rooms at every price point. Serko Online frequently achieves more than 90% adoption rates with customers and can save corporations anything up to 20% on their corporate travel budgets.
Serko Expense is a powerful cloud-based expense management solution that simplifies every aspect of expense management. Through Serko Expense, users can manage cash claims, mileage, allowance and corporate credit card expenses. Unique cloud–based matching technology, makes the process of reconciling corporate card expenses, a painless experience that saves hours of admin time and dramatically improves policy compliance. And it doesn’t stop with simple expense management... Serko holds a number of world wide patents in the payment and expense space that will ensure Serko stays ahead of the market and can continue to deliver unique, market defining products for years to come.
Serko is a story of travel technology innovation. Founders Darrin Grafton and Bob Shaw started the Serko journey with Interactive Technologies Limited in 1994. ITL was a technology company designed to help travel agents solve a number of thorny mid-office and back office system challenges.
As the Internet took off and irrevocably changed the way users searched and booked travel, the business changed direction in order to ride the wave and in 2000 Serko Online was born. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength and with an unwavering commitment to simplifying and improving the travel experience, has gone on to become Australasia’s preferred OBT.
Early in 2014 Serko acquired the assets of Incharge, a small but significant online expense management company. In 2014 Serko listed on the NZX and in early 2015 Serko acquired the assets of Arnold Travel Technology, a competing OBT, from Expedia® to extend it's dominance over the Australian market.
