What is Stepped Booking?

One Flight, Several Fares: Stepped Booking is Unique to Serko's Travel Booking Software.

Until recently, if you were making a booking on a flight that had less seats remaining with the cheapest fare than the number of travellers you were trying to booking at once, you would have had to select the next available fare on the flight that could accommodate all travellers. Fear not - that little conundrum has been resolved.

With Serko's unique Stepped Booking Class functionality, the Group Booking travel policy can now be configured to use up those best fare seats first, then 'step up' to the next allocated fare on the flight and continue the bookings to ensure all travellers are on the best fare available and all booked together at the same time.

Stepped booking can be configured as described above, but can also be set to book fares in a specific order (e.g. sell out flexible fares first then restricted as a last resort) or even by considering negotiated private fares only.
