OPINION: Businesses can achieve substantial savings – often in excess of 10 per cent of non-salary opex - simply by changing how they spend and thinking carefully about the technology that they use to manage it.
In May this year BNZ chief executive, Anthony Healy, attributed BNZ's strong mid-year result to underlying revenue growth and – in part – to careful management of expenses.
With a new financial year about to kick in for many businesses, more should heed Healy's approach and look closely at how they manage corporate spending behaviour, and automate where possible.
